A piece for woodwind quintet, inspired by a series of paintings by Anda Lāce with the same title, 2015/16

Pārsāts (Sate) was created in collaboration with artist Anda Lāce for her painting series with the same title. The series consists of 20 paintings that are divided in two parts – the first part has 15 rather small paintings, the other part has five larger paintings in different sizes (displayed in an augmented sequence). Each painting in the series has its own title, they can also be found in the score. Part I coincides with the 15 rather small paintings. This part can also be performed as 15 solo miniatures for any of the instruments from the quintet as well as it is possible to switch the entry times of each instrument. This score offers one of many variations, if necessary, you can get other versions when you contact me. The music is my own interpretation of the titles of Anda Lāces paintings and the mutual relations of their sizes - a bit alienating from the paintings themselves.
