Ainulindalë

Written for a large symphony orchestra and mixed choir, premiered in 2014.

This piece is deeply inspired by the very beginning of J. R. R. Tolkien's work The Silmarillion, where this term - Ainulindale - first appears with the meaning "the song of the Ainur". When I read this book for the first time, I already heard innumerable choir voices oozing from every paragraph, so it was inevitable for this piece to be written sooner or later.
